ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 0.50 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The subject of the course is the acquisition of basic knowledge in the field of occupational safety and health, elements of labor law, fire protection as first aid in the event of an emergency.

Full description:

The subject Health and Safety at work was introduced by the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 30 october 2018 on occupational safety and health in higher education institutions (Dz.U.2018.2090).

Occupational health and safety are all legal norms and means of research aimed at creating an employee's working conditions so that they can work in a productive way without exposing themselves to unjustified risk of accident or occupational disease and excessive physical and mental strain.

The specificity of the higher education institution requires the provision of safe and hygienic working conditions not only to the employees employed by the university, but also to the trainees.

The subject Health and safety at work is intended to bring the students closer to the problem and to help them achieve a level of knowledge that will lead to compliance with the rules and regulations of workplace safety and health.

The condition of completing the occupational health and safety training is:

1) get acquainted with materials placed on the platform,

2) get the right number of points from the selection test.

The test consists of 26 closed-ended questions, closely related to the material placed on the platform. Questions for each student/ doctoral students are randomly selected from question base and placed in random order. Passing the test will give you 14 answers to 26 questions. Information on the student's enrollment Health and safety training will be automatically placed in the USOS after the training rounds.

Learning outcomes:

After completing the module student/ doctoral students:

1) knows the rules on health and safety at work,

2) knows the content of selected issues in the field of labor law,

3) knows the rules of fire protection,

4) knows the rules of first aid in the event of an accident.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The test consists of 26 closed-ended questions, closely related to the material placed on the platform. Questions for each student/ doctoral students are randomly selected from question base and placed in random order. Passing the test will give you 14 answers to 26 questions. A student from an occupational health and safety department receives 0.5 ECTS
