Lecture The properties, methods of preparation and reactivity (with particular emphasis on reaction mechanisms) of organic compounds with specific functional groups are thoroughly discussed. Seminar With the participation of the student, the properties of organic compounds, their stereochemistry, resonance structures and the reaction mechanisms are discussed. |

Chemical and physical properties of organic compounds organized in several classes based on the functional groups they carry. Hydrocarbons (aliphatic, cyclic, saturated and unsaturated, aromatic), halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols and phenols, amines, aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids and their functional derivatives. For every class of compounds the following are discussed: nomenclature, structure, basic chemical transformations (mechanisms of reactions), methods of preparation and application. |

| Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
(in Polish) Egzamin w formie mieszanej. Studenci piszą egzamin na platformie Kampus/COME. Jeśli uzyskają 50-59,9% dostają ocenę dostateczną (3,0), jeśli uzyskają 60-69,9% uzyskują ocenę dostateczną plus (3,5), jeśli uzyskają 70% i więcej mogą zaakceptować 3,5 lub przystępują do egzaminu ustnego. Po egzaminie ustnym końcowa ocena z przedmiotu nie może być niższa niż 3,5 (czyli część ustna nie obniża oceny). Proseminarium: pisemne kolokwia oceniające wiedzę studenta w zakresie metod otrzymywania oraz reaktywności związków organicznych. Dwukrotna nieusprawiedliwiona nieobecność na zajęciach powoduje niezaliczenie proseminarium. Osoby, które uzyskają ocenę 4,5 lub 5,0 są zwolnione z egzaminu z tą samą oceną. |
