Language: Polish
Type of course:

obligatory courses

Prerequisites (description):

Passed exam of Organic Chemistry IA lub IB

Short description:

Lectures on fundamental knowledge of the most important natural organic compounds: amino acids, peptides, proteins, sugars, lipids, nucleic acids and vitamins. For each group of compounds will be discussed: structure, nomenclature, basic chemical reactions, occurrence in nature and reported biological effects.

Full description:

1. Amino acids: classification, structure, synthesis, application

2. Peptides: Peptide-binding characteristics, synthesis, biologically active peptides, biological activity relationship studies on the chemical structure

3. Proteins: rzędowość, building structures, the second-row (helix, beta-sheet), the construction of selected proteins (collagen, keratin, globulin, a protein receptor)

4. Monosaccharides: structure, projections and Hawortha Fisher, stereochemistry, create and conformation hemiacetals, mutarotacja, basic reactions, oxidation and reduction of monosaccharides, glycosides, di-and polysaccharides

5. Lipids: fats, fatty acids, detergents, soaps, prostangladyny, terpenes, steroids, phospholipids, sphingolipids, structure of biological membranes,

6. Nucleic acids: DNA, RNA, construction of the heterocyclic bases (pyrimidine, purine), nucleosides, nucleotides, pairing of the DNA helix, nucleic acids and Inheritance

7. Vitamin C (biosynthesis, chemical synthesis, properties)
