Acquiring skills which are necessary for analysis, compilation and description of research results especially to make reports and posters. Ability to work in the wxMaxima program. |

1. Formatting text in MS Word; table of contents, links, footnotes 2. Data analysis in MS Excel: calculations on columns, relative and absolute cell addressing, matching functions to data, error calculations, charts 3. Editing chemical and mathematical formulas: Equation Editor and ISIS Draw programs 4. Raster graphics - Gimp program: image editing, selection of areas, background clearing, colour editing, filters, masks, layers 5. Vector graphics - Inkscape: drawing and cloning shapes and editing their properties, grouping, distribution of elements on the page, masking, working with text 6. Internet databases: SciFinder, PubMed, search of publications abstract, University of Warsaw Library resources 7. Visualization of small and large particles: HyperChem, Pymol, VMD 8. Basics of working with wxMaxima: labeling, defining functions, substituting and simplifying expressions, solving simple equations, function graphs 9. wxMaxima - mathematical analysis: derivatives, integrals, differential equations 10. wxMaxima - algebra: matrix calculations, eigenvectors, matrix decomposition 11 wxMaxima – solving complex problems |
