Prerequisites (description):

The program of classes contain theoretical and practical aspects of the conception of education through art .The program is open and is rather the area of possibility of creation and is giving an occasion for developement of different kinds of expression and creative activity as an individual experience .Students can discover many areas of creative expression through ,,meetings with art " and also art activity .During the classes we can find an elements of the theory of art and also practical aspects of education through art and student's creation through the :workshops , visits in galeries and museum. In the program we can find : presentations of films of art , documetations of art activity/ artists , youth , children/. We can also get some presentations and documents from INSEA /International Society for Education Through Art /congreses .

The course gives possiblty for many forms of students art activity like :painting,drawing, graphical expression or sculpture,ceramics or others and also give them knowledge on methods of art teaching and explainhow to be the guider in the world of art.The second aim is to prepare some art prjects,art lessons with children or youth.

Learning outcomes:

1. Achieving knowledge and skills

Students will gain knowledge in the following areas:

- in the field of old and new art and psychological regularities of creative thinking

-stimulating the creative expression of children and young people :

-organise training of aesthetic sensitivity

-upbringing by creativity, with the organisation of integrated forms of expression in music, dance, elements of educational drama and dance

-Diagnosis by means of drawing, use of projection methods to study e. g. family relations, group, etc.

-art therapy: getting to know oneself and one's relations with others through art

-the subject matter and methods of inspiring activities, creating conditions favourable to creativity:

- basic knowledge in the field of pedagogy and psychology of creativity

2. Skills:

-organise situations favourable to creativity

-developing creative attitudes

-developing skills for designing open educational situations

- skills for animating the creative activity of children and young people

- acting as a mandator of art ,

-in the scope of animating cultural processes in the local environment, taking into account the issues of folk art

3. creative and artistic activities of students :

acquiring artistic skills in the field of ceramics and sculpture, painting, graphic and spatial composition-papieroplasty, drawing, realization of integrated artistic forms, e. g. plastic-musical, theatrical (also puppet theatre) and others

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The basis for obtaining a positive grade in the course is active participation in classes, realization of artistic and scenographic works, taking part in discussions on the presentation of problems and issues indicated above. Each participant of the course prepares a multimedia presentation or paper. The assessment criteria are in accordance with the general rules adopted at the University of Warsaw, including the applicable grading scale, continuous assessment (ongoing preparation for classes and activity).
