ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 4.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the problems of decision making in the enterprise in various problem areas, including finance, marketing and production management. During the course, students learn about the links between functional and product areas in the company using a simulated game environment. In addition, the interaction between teams and the split of responsibilities within teams gives the opportunity to test the working in a group and communication skills

Description of competence training:

During the course students will take part in a series of games and workshops to provide them with practical knowledge about teamwork, negotiation, conflict solution, project & time management in a demanding work environment, assertiveness, verbal and non-verbal interpersonal communication, team management, etc. A set of games is changed annually at the discretion of the instructors to match the level and type of games to the dynamics of the group and to prevent anticipation and adjustment to potential game results.

Participants in the course acquire skills in the field of:

- soft skills (ability to communicate, assertiveness, group working & roles, negotiation, team working)

- group work competence based on the Markops game scenario

- skills in the analysis and preparation of financial statements

- the ability to analyze market data based on the prepared Markops game scenario

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The assessment of classes will be based on:

- active participation in competency games

- active participation in the Markops game and the final ranking of the game
