Short description:	Selected methodological issues relating to social studies: social research in classification of science; naturalism vs. antynaturalism; social research and values; scientific method; proposition, theory; causality, scientific explanation and prediction; theoretical concepts, conceptualization and operationalisation; choice of indicators in research; measurement; types of social research and social analysis.
Full description:	Selected methodological issues relating to social studies: - social research in classification of science - naturalism vs. antynaturalism; - social research and values; - revolutionary science, concept of the 'research programme' - research problems, hypotheses, types of propositions, induction and deduction strategies of theory construction - causality - scientific explanation and prediction - theoretical concepts, conceptualization and operationalisation - choice of indicators in research, types of indicators - measurement and levels of measurement - people and population as objects of researches - levels of sociological analysis; - types of social research and social analysis: experimental and quasi-experimental research; survey research methods and analysis of surveys data; panel studies and other longitudinal research, method of comparative cross-national research, case study, sociological intervention, evaluation research
