Short description:	Epistemology is a part of philosophy dealing with problems of cognition and knowledge. In the field of epistemology there are discussed questions about the sources of our beliefs, the object of perception, ways of justifying beliefs, the structure of justification, the possibility of acquiring any knowledge (the problem of skepticism), the limits of knowledge, the nature of knowledge and truth.

Learning outcomes:	(in Polish) Wiedza - zna podstawową terminologię epistemologiczną w języku polskim, zna najważniejsze terminy epistemologiczne w języku angielskim (W03, W05) - zna zależności między epistemologią a głównymi subdyscyplinami filozoficznymi oraz między epistemologią a innymi naukami, których przedmiotem jest poznanie (W02) - ma uporządkowaną wiedzę o głównych stanowiskach w obrębie epistemologii (W06, W08) - rozumie podstawowe problemy i zagadnienia epistemologiczne (W06, W08) Umiejętność - poprawnie stosuje poznaną terminologię epistemologiczną (U05) - analizuje argumenty filozoficzne dotyczące zagadnień z zakresu epistemologii, identyfikuje ich kluczowe założenia oraz wykrywa zależności między ich tezami i założeniami (U07) - umie podać argumenty za i przeciw podstawowym stanowiskom w obrębie współczesnej epistemologii (U10) - przytacza główne tezy omawianych wypowiedzi z dziedziny epistemologii, stosownie do ich istotności (U10) Kompetencje społeczne - jest otwarty na dyskusję i nowe propozycje rozwiązań problemów (K02) - potrafi współdziałać i pracować w grupie przyjmując w niej różne role (K10)
