Short description:	The course shall concentrate on the development of the Socratic thread in Patristic and Medieval thought. It will take up the question of self-discovery in the anthropology of Augustine, Gregory of Nyssa, Bernard of Clairvaux, Abelard, Bonaventure, Master Eckhart, and others.
Full description:	(in Polish) Na dzieje myśli i duchowości chrześcijańskiej bardzo istotny wpływ wywarł specyficzny rodzaj refleksji filozoficznej, której punktem centralnym i wyróżniającym jest nakaz: „Poznaj samego siebie”. Ponieważ refleksja ta bierze swój początek od Sokratesa, jej kontynuację w filozofii greckiej i rzymskiej słusznie można określić mianem „sokratyzmu” zaś jej przemienioną pod wpływem filozofii, teologii i w końcu mistyki chrześcijańskiej postać: „sokratyzmem chrześcijańskim”. Wykład dotyczyć będzie rozwoju wątku sokratycznego w myśli patrystycznej i średniowiecznej. Podjęta zostanie kwestia samopoznania w antropologii min. Augustyna, Grzegorza z Nyssy, Bernarda z Clairvaux, Abelarda, Bonawentury, Mistrza Eckharta.
