Seminarium poświęcone analizie głównych stanowisk etyki środowiska naturalnego: stanowiska antropocentrycznego i biocentrycznego. |

Seminar devoted to selected issues in environmental ethics considered from humen-centred and life-centred perspectives. Following questions will be discussed: basic relation „man-nature”, pro-life position versus antropocentrism, non-human beings as the subject of moral consideration, the intrinsic value of nature (respect of Nature), needes of future generations, human duties and responsibilities with regard to natural ecosystems, moral rights of animals. |

Efekty uczenia się: |
KNOWLEDGE – Student has knowledge and understanding of interdisciplinary concepts applied in ecological ethics – is aquainted with the main ecological questions and problems of present times – has a sufficient knowledge of main philosophical and normative approaches and main argumentations used in contemporary disuccions in environmental ethics – appreciates the importance of ethical legal and political factors in the practice of ecological movements. SKILLS – Student analysis texts and arguments discussed during the seminarium – identifies main problems related to human relation to nature – is capable to present well-structured arguments defending his standpoint – prepare oral presentation concernong the seminar subject – is able to to express in english his philosophical opinion SOCIAL COMPETENCE – Student appreciates the importance of of ethical reflection related to respect for nature – is engaged in research activity and is interested in new ethical currensts concerning ecological practice – tries to resolve moral dilemmas related to ecological issues |

Active participation in seminar discussions and oral presentation in class. |
