Pełny opis: (tylko po angielsku)

The aim of "Health Psychology" block of classes (30h lecture and 15h seminar) is to discuss the basic issues in the field of health psychology and rehabilitation. This includes:

- theoretical concepts, definitions and models of health, illness and disability,

- the impact of psychosocial factors, particularly stress, on healthy functioning of the individual as well as adaptation and coping with illness and disability,

- the functioning of a professional psychologist in the healthcare system and the principles of cooperation with other professionals (doctors, physiotherapists, etc.), as well as in other areas of social life where knowledge of health psychology is useful (e.g. health promotion in the education system; prevention and health promotion activities undertaken by employers, local government and other institutions and non-governmental organizations),

- the psychological aspects regarding the situation of illness and various types of disabilities.

The classes will also serve to develop competences and skills related to the creation and evaluation of programs in the field of prevention and health promotion. In particular, the Intervention Mapping Protocol will be taught. Intervention Mapping provides a framework for designing theory- and evidence-based behaviour change programmes. Major perspectives in Intervention Mapping are the application of multiple theories and multiple sources of evidence in answering what, why, and how questions with respect to understanding and changing behaviour; the continuous participation of the target population, programme users, and stakeholders in programme planning, implementation, and evaluation; and the adoption of a socio-ecological perspective that acknowledges the rich physical, social, and policy environmental context in which behaviour [change] takes place.
