Pełny opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) Course presents the problems of diagnosing diseases from lesions visible on the skeleton, with particular emphasis on human remains excavated by archaeologists. Students will get acquainted with the types of diseases that leave traces on the bones, their classification and possible interpretation of the found changes. Basic information on the evolution of diseases in various chronological periods will also be presented. |

Efekty uczenia się: |
(tylko po angielsku) The students are acquainted with the problems of paleopatological research and its methodology. They learn the terminology and basic concepts associated with this field. Understand the impact of diseases on human life in different chronological periods and ways in which health problems were dealt with in the past. They learn the characteristics of diseases in communities depending on their civilizational development and geographic and climatic conditions. Students is able to present a differential diagnosis of the observed changes on the skeleton or based on information contained in the anthropological report. The student is aware of the existence of many interpretations of the problems studied. |
