2 h Online workshop (kampus.uw.edu.pl) case analysis, analysis of regulatory documents, discussion of assigned readings

Full description:

The workshop accompanies lecture “Research Ethics - lecture” which is required for doctoral students of all Doctoral Schools.

Contents: the origins of ethics regulations regarding research involving humans; the concept of biological material of human origin used in research; principles of procurement of the biological material of human origin (donors, other research, biobanks, commercial suppliers); consent of donors the research material; protection of privacy of donors; models and systems of protection of the dignity, rights, and interests of the donors of human biological material; banking of biological material of human origin.

Intended audience: doctoral students conducting research involving human cadavers, remains, organs, cells, tissues, and bodily fluids.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

in order to participate in the workshop attendance at “Research Ethics - lecture” lecture is required; attendance is required.

credits are given on the basis of the final test covering the contents of “Research Ethics – lecture” and the reading materials; only those doctoral students who attended two workshops (2 hours each) will be allowed to attend the test and earn credits for the lecture (and the subject); the retake test is analogous to the final test

final test covering the contents of “Research Ethics – lecture” as well as the required readings; assessment of activity in class
