ECTS credit allocation (and other scores):	6.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles: the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS; the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h; 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes; weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS; work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load. view allocation of credits

Short description:	The seminar is addressed to students interested in presenting formalism-free mathematics as part of science, culture and civilisation. Participants will be encouraged to read and create such presentations.
Full description:	The seminar is addressed to students interested in presenting formalism-free mathematics as part of science, culture and civilisation. Participants will be encouraged to read and create such presentations. Students will be asked to present a critical analysis of literature items related to the popularisation of mathematics. Moreover, they may present their own texts that follow the spirit of the discussed item. They should posses some ability in presenting their ideas in both oral and written form and they are expected to like and read popular texts. The list of authors to be discussed may include: E.A. Learning outcomes:	(in Polish) Student umie: (1) zaplanować, przygotować i wygłosić referat popularnomatematyczny: - wybrać temat odpowiedni dla danej publiczności, dopasowany do poziomu zaawansowania, zainteresowań, dostępnego czasu i oczekiwanego charakteru wystąpienia, - dokonać wyboru materiału uwzględniając adresatów (inny dla uczniów, inny dla studentów, jeszcze inny dla pasjonatów matematyki), - odpowiednio przygotować odczyt, dopasować tempo i zawartość do dostępnego czasu, a w razie konieczności modyfikować w trakcie, - dobrać formę prezentacji adekwatną do tematu, słuchaczy, warunków, - odpowiadać na pytania publiczności podczas wystąpienia i po jego zakończeniu, (2) krytycznie analizować wystąpienia swoje oraz innych osób i innego rodzaju materiały popularnomatematyczne: - dostrzegać mocne i słabe strony referatów, artykułów, filmów i innego rodzaju przekazów, wyciągać wnioski dla siebie na przyszłość, - oglądając cudze wystąpienia uczyć się, jakie praktyki są dobre dla popularyzacji, a jakie nie i dlaczego, - dyskutować o nich i wygłaszać swoje opinie i uwagi na forum.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	(in Polish) Seminarium ma charakter warsztatowy, oczekujemy aktywnego udziału uczestników. Nie przewidujemy możliwości zaliczania seminarium bez uczęszczania na nie.
