Full description:

The aim of the practice is to perfect the skills of making optical visual aids, primarily spectacles, as well as fitting contact lenses. The perfection takes place under the supervision of a certified practising optometrist or optometrist-contactologist, in optical and/or contact shops.

The practice takes place in functioning opticians' or contactologists' salons, ophthalmic clinics, etc., upon approval of the practice coordinator and the signing of a tripartite agreement, including the practice plan. The coordinator pays attention to whether the facilities of the establishment and the qualifications of the practice supervisor enable the realisation of the learning outcomes.

During the placement, patient cases are recorded, according to the ECOO guidelines, and confirmed in writing by the practice supervisor.

A list of patients and a concise report are required to pass the course. It is also possible to pass the practice on the basis of previous work experience. In this case, the coordinator evaluates the documents submitted and makes a decision on this basis.
