(in Polish) This proseminar consists of 4 series of 3 meetings. Each such series is devoted to one contemporary challenge or problem that is facing us. The challenges that will be discussed are related to topics such as global warming, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, nuclear threats, public education and science outreach, etc. Each series of meetings will consist of a lecture by an expert in a given topic, short presentations by students, and a discussion or other forms of deepening knowledge in this area. |

(in Polish) This proseminar consists of 4 series of 3 meetings. Each such series is devoted to one contemporary challenge or problem that is facing us. The challenges that will be discussed are related to topics such as global warming, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, nuclear threats, public education and science outreach, etc. Each series of meetings will consist of a lecture by an expert in a given topic, short presentations by students, and a discussion or other forms of deepening knowledge in this area. |
Learning outcomes: |
(in Polish) The students will understand various aspects of some of the most important challenges of contemporary world and will gain motivation to try to address them themselves. They will also develop skills of preparing and giving public presentations and conducting and participating in public discussions. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
(in Polish) To get a positive grade a student should give all required short presentations and (actively) attend the classes. |
