Prerequisites (description): | The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the basic principles of radiological protection, the regulations governing the handling of radioisotopes, the organisation and control of the working environment in conditions of exposure to ionising radiation. |

Full description: 1. Measurements of the radiation spectrum - finding and identifying an unknown radiation source. 2. Characterisation of materials used to attenuate radiation. Measurements of radiation dose strength. Neutron flux measurements and shielding capabilities of various materials. 5. measurements of radioactive contamination and performance of decontamination process. 6. Dosimetry measurements in the radiochemistry laboratory - hot chambers, dosimetry gates, environmental measurements, transport of radiopharmaceutical to the site of application. |

On completion of the course the student: 1. knows the principles of radiological protection 2. knows the legal regulations in force in Poland 3. be able to prepare and control in an organisational unit the procedures of radiological protection 4. is able to prepare and supervise in an organisational unit the documentation 5. be able to carry out individual dosimetric and work environment inspections |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
A prerequisite for passing the laboratory is the completion of all exercises and obtaining min. 50% of the points. |
