Short description:

Library training is intended to prepare the first year students for the unassisted use of library resources and services.

Full description:

The purpose of the library training is to prepare the first year students for active use of the collection and services offered by the library.

The training includes the following topics:

- use of computer catalog (browsing the catalog, borrowing, check-out and reservation of books, checking patron’s library account)

- rules and regulations of the library

- searching methods and requesting items, arrangement of the collection

- information retrieval (paper and computer catalogs, databases, e-books)

Students should be able to find and request scientific literature using available tools and information on their own.
