Prerequisites (description):

1. Students should know the basics of the field of organic chemistry lecture "Organic Chemistry of the elements of biochemistry".

2. Students should be able to perform a simple chemical experiment, know the basic safety rules in the laboratory.

Short description:

The aim of the laboratory work is to teach students of synthesis and purification of simple organic compounds.

Full description:

During the individual work every student will become familiar with fundamental laboratory techniques: crystallisation, distillation, extraction, chromatography as well as basic apparatus used in the laboratory of organic chemistry.

After finishing the course the student should know:

- the rules of the safe work in the organic chemistry laboratory,

- how to use the basic equipment and to perform common laboratory techniques,

- how to carry out the synthesis of simple organic compounds and purify synthesized compounds.

Completion of all individual experiments, approval of written reports and tests.
