Language: Polish
Type of course:

obligatory courses

Short description:

The aim of the seminar is to extend and consolidate the knowledge discussed during the lectures: gas chromatography and liquid chromatography.

Full description:

The seminar covers the following topics:

1. Calculations of retention parameters based on actual chromatograms,

2. Calculation of retention indexes,

3. Influence of the pH of the eluent on the retention times of the analytes,

4. Solving problems in HPLC on the basis of examples of typical analyzes.

Bibliography:

1. Z. Witkiewicz, "Podstawy chromatografii", Wyd. WNT 2000

2. R.Rosset, H. Kołodziejczyk, "Współczesna chromatografia cieczowa Ćwiczenia i zadania", PWN Warszawa 2001

3. W. Szczepaniak Metody instrumentalne w analizie chemicznej, Wyd. PWN 1997

Learning outcomes:

The student knows and understands what is the process of separation of compounds using HPLC. The student is able to calculate the basic parameters of the separation. The student is able to choose the separation conditions for simple mixtures of compounds.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Final exam in the form of a written exam, open questions. The pass mark is to obtain more than 50% of the points.
