Type of course: | obligatory courses |
Prerequisites (description): | (in Polish) Student powinien posiadać wiedzę z zakresu wszystkich metod geofizycznych tj.: - grawimetrii - geomagnetyki - geoelektryki (pionowych sondowań elektrooporowych, tomografii elektrooporowej i georadaru) - sejsmiki - karotażu Wiedza ta dotyczy metodyki wykonywania pomiarów, akwizycji danych, przetwarzania i interpretacji. Wiedzę na powyższe tematy może zdobyć na następujących przedmiotach obligatoryjnych prowadzonych na UW: - wstęp do geofizyki III r. - geofizyka stosowana III r. |
Short description: |
The subject consists of 1 hr. / Wk. lecture and 2 hrs. / wk. exercise. In the lectures the geophysical methods used in hydrogeology and engineering geology are discussed. On the exercises are taking place in the computer lab, students do the processing, interpretation and development of geophysical data. |
Full description: |
The lecture is designed to acquaint a student with: - recommendations for use of geophysical methods listed in regulations of Minister, instructions, methodologies and documentation rules for the preparation of hydrogeological and engineering geology - discussion of spontaneous potential method, presentation of the method used in geology, hydrogeology and engineering geology - groundwater exploration and determination of water resources. - discussion of the stages of exploration and recognition of groundwater resources using the geophysical methods. - discussion of the GPR method in terms of its application in hydrology and engineering geology, presentation of examples. characteristics of geophysical methods application in engineering geology researches - geophysical research in determination of engineering geology conditions of mining areas and after mining exploitation The classes are taking place in the computer laboratory. Students work independently. Students have to make practical tasks in the range of: - vertical electrical sounding method - electrical tomography method - seismic method Practical tasks consist of the processing of geophysical data obtained from field measurements, making their interpretation and elaboration. |
