  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;

  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

Prerequisites (description):

(in Polish) Student powinien posiadać podstawową wiedzę związaną z:

- metodyką badań hydrogeologicznych,

- podstawowymi danymi przyrodniczymi terenu pracy magisterskiej,

- budową geologiczną i warunkami hydrogeologicznymi terenu pracy magisterskiej (informacje literaturowe).

Wiedzę na powyższe tematy może zdobyć na następujących przedmiotach obligatoryjnych Hydrologia i Hydrogeologia oraz kursie do wyboru z geologii stosowanej i ochrony środowiska prowadzonych na UW.

Short description:

Winter semester: Report from the master’s practice (2-weeks), presentation of results and field measurements. A speech on the basis of published literature.

Full description:

The seminar in the winter semester in the first part is intended to familiarization the teacher and supervisor with the effects of field reconnaissance conducted by graduate students and the ability of their interpretation. In the second part the students refer selected topics related to the topics of their master theses on the basis of available literature.

Learning outcomes:

After completing the seminar a student:

- knows the methodology of presentation of the merits issue

- characterizes and evaluates the collected material for a master thesis,

- learns and characterizes the issues related to the topic of a master thesis

- assesses the extent of the necessary field research to full realization of a master thesis

- assesses the direction and scope for further searching the archival materials about their research area.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Requirements for completion of the course:

- effectively carried out reconnaissance survey in the field,

- a significant amount of collected archival materials and literature,

- ability to interpret and present the results of field research,

- attractive visual form of presentations,

- activity in the discussion after the presentations.
