  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Students present results of their work on environmental databases, literature for the selected topic and a preliminary plan of their M.Sc. Fieldwork and M.Sc. Workshop.

Full description:

During seminars student present, in the presence of a thesis supervisor:

- a list of foreign-language literature related to the master’s thesis,

- characteristics of the content of the literature related to the master’s thesis, in particular to the most important chapter of the thesis,

- updating f the table of contents of the thesis,

- plan of field and laboratory work, and the way and time of their implementation.

After each presentation, there is a discussion about the content, quality and the way of presentation.

The rules of the selection of environmental samples, their collection, storage and transport, and the arrangements for laboratory work are also discussed.

Learning outcomes:

The student is substantively and organizationally prepared for further home, field and laboratory works.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Assessment of the contents of presentation, student’s involvement in the study of the problem of the thesis, the way and quality of presentation.
