Prerequisites (description): | (in Polish) Studenci powinni mieć wiadomości z zakresu przedmiotu Geologia strukturalna. |
Short description: |
The lectures concern the construction of the Earth and the major geological structures such as lithospheric plates, rifts, orogens, deformation bands, transform faults, fracture zones, interpreted mainly in the context of the theory of plate tectonics of the lithosphere. |

(in Polish) 1. Tektonika płyt litosfery - krótki zarys. 2. Ruch względny i bezwzględny dwóch płyt na kuli, punkty potrójne – trójzłącza, stabilność punktów potrójnych. 3. Mechanizm ruchu płyt litosfery. 4. Granice płyt litosfery - Uskoki transformacyjne, przesuwcze i strefy spękań. 5. Granice dywergentne – brzegi pasywne. 6. Granice konwergentne – strefy subdukcji. 7. Analiza stref aktywnych uskoków, wzdłuż których występują trzęsienia Ziemi. 8. Najważniejsze ekstensyjne i kontrakcyjne struktury tektoniczne występujące w pasmach deformacji. 9. Learning outcomes: |
After completing the course, students should know the main tectonic structures and to find relationships between them. The object is to arouse curiosity of young researchers, indicate ambiguities in the interpretation and attempts to solve the problems of tectonic. |
