Prerequisites (description):	(in Polish) Student powinien posiadać podstawową wiedzę związaną z: - metodami badań hydrologicznych stosowanymi w hydrogeologii, - systematyką hydrogeologiczną, - składem fizycznym i właściwościami chemicznymi wód podziemnych oraz interpretacją analiz hydrogeochemicznych, - przepływem wód podziemnych i prawami nim rządzącymi, Wiedzę na powyższe tematy może zdobyć na następujących przedmiotach obligatoryjnych prowadzonych na UW: - Hydrologia, - Hydrogeologia.
Short description:	Preparation one or two papers in the form of oral presentation, with several themes to choose from, relating to the application of hydrogeology to practical purposes. Among the units: water supply, monitoring and protection of groundwater, with particular emphasis on oil and pollution from landfills, the problem of determining the protection zones, mining hydrogeology, groundwater recharge, threats of groundwater resources, vulnerability of hydrogeological systems to contaminations, dewatering of mines, geothermal water, therapeutic water.
Full description:	Seminar is designed to acquaint students with commonly found hydrogeological problems during future work and ways of their solutions. These problems mainly concern on: - groundwater supply - monitoring and protection of groundwater quality - threats of groundwater by pollution from/from under land surface and the way of its liquidation - renewability of groundwater resources - quantitative threats of groundwater resources - vulnerability of hydrogeological systems to contaminations - dewatering of mines, including the restoration of groundwater table at end of exploitation - geothermal water - therapeutic water.

Learning outcomes:	After completing the seminar a student: - knows the methodology of presentation of the merits issue - knows and characterize threats of groundwater quality - evaluates the extend of threats and the capabilities of liquidation the results of groundwater contamination - evaluates the quantitative threat of groundwater resources - characterizes in regional scale the capabilities of groundwater supply - evaluates the conditions of renewability of groundwater resource - evaluates the vulnerability of hydrogeological systems to contaminations - knows the problems with dewatering of mines and hydrogeological problems related to the mines liquidation - evaluates the capabilities related to geothermal waters exploitation - knows the types of therapeutic waters and its occurrence in Poland.
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	Requirements for completion of the course: - attractive visual form of presentations, - an interesting way of transfer information related to the topic, - activity in the discussion after the colleagues presentations.
