ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 2.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.
Language: Polish
Type of course:

obligatory courses

Prerequisites (description):

The student should have some knowledge of hydrogeology

Short description:

The most important issues related to the flow of pollutants in groundwater will be discussed (processes and conditions shaping the migration of pollutants in groundwater and the parameters characterizing them).

Full description:

The lecture will cover the following issues: Processes and conditions shaping the migration of substances in the soil and water environment and their computational parameters. The role of the rock medium in the flow of pollutants in the aquifer, with particular emphasis on sorption processes. Delaying the transfer of substances in a groundwater flow. The problem of scale in the interpretation of mass transport phenomena in groundwater flow. The role of carbonates, organic matter and microporosity of the rock matrix in the migration of pollutants in the aquifer.
