ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.
Language: Polish
Type of course:

elective courses

Short description:

Course is realized in the practical form in the computer lab. Each session devoted to selected petrophysical properties of rocks, which can be the reservoir or sealing rock for hydrocarbons. Particular emphasis is placed on comprehensive interpretation of the results obtained by different methods.

Full description:

The course is designed to provide knowledge of the petrophysical properties of rocks associated with hydrocarbon deposits and the methods used to determine these properties. The summary of the classes is a comprehensive interpretation of the results from different sources and on this basis alone carried out the classification of lithology and petrophysical rock. The course will be completed the following topics:

1. Characteristic of petrophysical properties (4h)

2. Microscopy methods (6h)

3. Laboratory methods (6h)

4. Logging (4h)

5. Seal rocks (4h)

6. Dygital rock physics (6h)

Learning outcomes:

– understand the complex geological processes that have an impact on the petrophysical properties of rocks

– consistently applies the principle of the strict use of empirical data obtained by different research methods to comprehensive interpretation of petrophysical properties of rocks.

– have knowledge of the principles of planning field studies and laboratory tests for the selection of representative samples and interpretation of the results of research in the field of petrofizyki rocks.

– uses advanced techniques and research tools for research petrophysical properties of rocks.

- collects and interprets the empirical data on the basis of their formulate appropriate proposals

- demonstrate the ability to formulate reasoned judgments based on data from various kinds of laboratory and field.

- able to interact and work in a group both during testing and during the interpretation of the results, assuming different roles in the group.

- regularly update the knowledge of the petrophysical properties of rocks research and knows its practical use.
