Short description:

The course presents the key issues in the contemporary discussion on teaching and learning in tertiary education. The main emphasis is put on the complex role of an academic teacher.

Full description:

The lecture invites to discussion on the main aspects of the role of an academic teacher. Two main forms of organizing a class are taken under scrutiny, namely a lecture and a seminar. Special attention is also paid to reading processes and interpreting a text as activities characteristic for learning in higher education institutions. The are are also other topics considered at the lecture, among others, pedagogical tradition and its impact on the contemporary university education, university versus school education, aims and objectives of tertiary education, learning outcomes and academic class designing, teaching and learning at university, active forms of teaching, assessment and its forms and functions, critical thinking and teaching processes, innovations and academic education, new tendencies in class designing, internationalization and teaching practice, education and research activities, teacher's self-education.

Wiedza:

- zna najważniejsze zagadnienia współczesnej pedagogiki szkoły wyższej, dotyczące problematyki kształcenia w uniwersytecie;

- zna główne tendencje w rozwoju wiedzy na temat procesu kształcenia i wychowania w szkole wyższej;

Umiejętności:

- umie posługiwać się terminologią pedagogiczną, zwłaszcza z zakresu dydaktyki;

- umie upowszechniać wyniki działalności naukowej, zgodnie z zasadami współczesnej dydaktyki;

- umie zaplanować proces dydaktyczny;

- umie dostosować metody i formy nauczania do konkretnej problematyki i sytuacji;

- umie wykorzystywać nowoczesne techniki w nauczaniu.

Kompetencje:

- jest gotów do podejmowania działań na rzecz doskonalenia własnego warsztatu pedagogicznego.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria: (in Polish)

Wymagana jest obecność na wykładzie. Dopuszczalna jest jedna nieobecność; należy ustalić z prowadzącym formę uzupełnienia wiadomości z wykładu.

Forma zaliczenia: krótka praca pisemna na ostatnim wykładzie.
