  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The aim of the classes is to provide beginners with a useful set of teaching tools for improvement of their teaching skills; in addition classes would be also an opportuni-ty for participants to share their own reflections on teaching process as well as to exchange experience in this field.

Bibliography:

The curriculum is not based on reading texts, it consists from practical exercises of using techniques and tools.

Learning outcomes:

After completing the classes, the postgraduate student

– knows the basic requirements and tools of the University of Warsaw related to the teaching process P8S_WG.4

– has knowledge of open educational resources and Creative Commons licenses and the ability to use them P8S_WG.4, P8S_KR.1

– is able to provide learners with constructive feedback P8S_UK.3

– is able to work in a group, moderating a debate and activating its participants P8S_UK.3

– is able to take care of the needs of the learners and her/his own as a teacher P8S_UU.1

– appreciates the role of self-awareness in planning the teaching process P8S_UU.1

– is able to apply selected methods of teaching and to choose appropriate tools for them P8S_UU.2

– is aware of the responsibility for her/his own learning and development process and is ready to build a similar attitude among students P8S_KO.1

– supports and contributes to creation of open educational resources P8S_UW.3, P8S_KO.2, P8S_KR.1, P8S_UK.2

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Passing the 30 hours classes:

– course attendance (number of absences allowed: 2)

– preparation and submission of the syllabus of own classes

Passing the 4 hours mandatory classes:

– participation in a selected module of classes

– submission of a short essay with reflections on the topic of the selected module
