The interdisciplinary subject is aimed at all the School's doctoral students. During the course, the most exciting research conducted at the University of Warsaw by various disciplines within the School will be presented, extending beyond the narrow confines of any single discipline. A significant portion of the meetings, however, will be devoted to lectures by prominent representatives of social sciences from outside UW (including from foreign universities). Therefore, the subject is an extraordinary opportunity to expand one's knowledge and scientific horizons and draw inspiration from sometimes unconventional topics that defy frameworks and paradigms. It is a fascinating journey into the unknown for individuals from disciplines outside the given ones. For those within the disciplines, it is a chance to meet well-known and vital figures from their research world.

Description of requirements related to participation in classes, including the

permitted number of explained absences: Attendance is mandatory, but PhD students are allowed one absence (one lecture).

Principles for passing the classes and the subject (including resit session): Attendance: Due to the specific nature of the course, there is no provision for a traditional "make-up" session. Absences can be compensated for during the next run of the course.

Methods for the verification of learning outcomes: Attendance list for classes, verified by the School’s staff member.

Evaluation criteria: Pass or fail based on the attendance list (more than one unexcused absence results in a failure).
