Basic elements and principles of conducting environmental assessment. |
Full description: |
Theory of environmental impact due to investments, planning, policies. Legal background and general procedures of environmental assessment (EA). Decision-making process. Screening and scoping as the elements of environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedures. Sector analysis. The role of administration, investors, designers and public in EIA process. Main regulations of public participation and negotiations. Alternatives for location, technology, process, sub-activities. Quantificational analysis; questionnaires, matrices, special operates. Using of GIS. Expertise methods. Predictions and forecasting to spatial plans. Transboundary analysis. Using the EIA system to environmental certification, according the sustainable development rules. Examples – big investments in Poland, EIA procedures. EIA in EU and USA. Consulting and administration in EIA activities. |

Students: – know main elements and procedures of environmental assessment, – get ability to construct environmental impact assessment report. |
