obligatory courses

(in Polish) Celem zajęć jest przygotowanie studentów do postrzegania ochrony dziedzictwa kulturowego jako osobistego wyzwania i działania na jego rzecz, zwłaszcza w środowisku lokalnym poprzez różne formy aktywności. Główny nacisk położony jest na wiedzę dotyczącą dziedzictwa kulturowego w Polsce, uświadomienie studentom różnorodnych wartości związanych z tym dziedzictwem oraz konieczności jego ochrony.

The aim of course is a transmission of the knowledge about the diversity of objects making up the cultural heritage, including the cultural landscapes. In the courses we have the elements of discusion and "brain storm" method, in the classes - students prepare some presentations.Selercted questions concerne:

a) cultural landscapes,

b) UNESCO's World Heritage List,

c) Memory of the World UNESCO's List,

d) Monuments of History in Poland,

e) architecvtural monuments.

We emphasize firstly the protected values original asnd typical od polish local or national tradition, as well the elements of European (World) Heritage. We expose the Cracow as a city with typical mediaval spatial management, showing the structure of mediaval authorities.

Knowledge

Elements of cultural landscapes. Polish properties on the UNESCO's World Heritage List. Monuments of History in Poland and Memory of the World UNESCO's List. Students know, that the Cultural heritage protection isn't only the protection of monuments, but also many other activities. Students know, what is it the cultural landscape in "tectonic" (material, physical) and "semiotic" interpretastions. Student learns how to recognize and analyse relations between the cultural landscapes elements.

Competences

Student can to justify introduction of some properties on the UNESCO' s List of the World Cultural Heritage and can justify their cultural sumbols. He can justify introduction of selected properies on the list of historical monuments and propose eventual protection of some properties in the neighboorhood.

Attitudes:

Students perceive the complexity of cultural heritage, accept that the different social groups (differenr persons) differently perceive the same object and their symbolic essences. They understand, that conservation is only one, and not perfect, way to retain the cultural heritage.

Credit for a course: credit for a classes 50%, credit for a lecture - 50%.

3 - 51-65% of all possible points, but minimum 1 point for a classes and minimum 1 point for a lecture,

4 - 66-80%, 5 - 81% or more.
