Cel przedmiotu: umiejętność wykonania podstawowych badań środowiska przyrodniczego, delimitacja jednostek przyrodniczo planistycznych w terenie, identyfikacja specyficznych problemów środowiskowych wpływających na funkcjonowanie socjo-ekonomiczne, waloryzacja i optymalizacja wykorzystania środowiska przyrodniczego.

Objectives of the course: skills in basis methods researches of natural environment, destingishing of natural planning units,identification of specific environmental problems and their impact on socio-economic functioning of region, assessment and optimalisation of usage of natural environment

Course contents: This course allow students to conduct field work near Płock agglomeration. They are focused on following problems: Application of geomorphological and lithological mapping in territorial planning, land capability classifications and environmental management, i.e. for agriculture, mineral resources exploitation, civil engineering. Human impact assessment and its importance to evolution of morphodynamics processes in selected area. Water resources - water alimentatiom sources. Water needs in a suburb and rural areas. Włocławek barrage at the Vistula River-function, benefits and risk. Water ecosystems. Field research methods used in meteorology and climatology. Meteorological measurements walks, stationary and on the transect. Methods of climatological analyses of results measurement devices ( statistical and graphic methods). Topoclimatic mapping in local scale and their initial analysis for the need of spatial economy. Spatial management in Vistula valley: flood protection, hydrotechnic installations, hydropower plants, NATURA 2000areas. Naturalization of village built-up areas. Waste, water and sewage management system. Power engineering - renewable energy sources. Spatial order and landscape protection in Polish Lowland. Assessment of natural environment potentials (construction, agriculture, recreation). Field methods of researches - bore holes and soil pits. Environmental units and landscape planning. Soil-complexes map as a source of information about soils and lithological substratum.

Assessment methods: Field work under guidance of staff and individual. Notices of field work. Graphic materials from field work. Assessment of natural environment in category of spatial units - essay.
