ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description: (in Polish)

The aim of this course is to prepare students for planning, acquiring and processing field measurements dedicated to remote sensing analysis.

The course will cover such issues as remote sensing data acquisition emphasizing methods of field studies, data preparation (selecting, pre-processing, storing), statistical analysis, processing of the data,

Students will discuss the data processing workflow and plan their own analysis.

Full description: (in Polish)

The aim of this course is to prepare students for planning, acquiring and processing field measurements dedicated to remote sensing analysis.

The course is realized as a series of seminar meetings with exercises, presentations of projects, discussion on presented researches.

1. Methods used in Field RS basics based on ebook.

2. Remote sensing techniques including field measurements in applications analysis of different papers.

3. Short project ofplanning and processing field data (the aim, the literature background, presentation of research methods, the concept of own methodology, obtained results) and their discussion.

The course will cover such issues as remote sensing data acquisition emphasizing methods of field studies, data preparation (selecting, pre-processing, storing), statistical analysis, processing of the data, problems during field measurements.

The course accentuates the development of students English language skills and familiarizes them with English remote sensing terminology.

SKILLS:

- Student uses geographical terminology in English language at the B2+ level,

SOCIAL COMPETENCE:

- Ability to work in the team

Assessment methods and assessment criteria: (in Polish)

The final grade depends on:

- the quality of 3 oral presentations,

- activities during the classes.

The choice of topic, presentation of the literature background (other similar researches), presentation of research methods, the concept of own methodology, obtained results and their discussion are assessed.

Students who do not meet these requirements are required to repeat the course in the next cycle of classes.

Absence during two classes is allowed.
