ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Students are expected to have a basic knowledge of how the labor market works and knowledge of the educational system in Poland.

Short description:

The workshop aims to prepare students to consciously create an educational and professional career path by building their portfolios based on their knowledge, skills, past achievements, and professional experience.

Full description:

The workshop aims to prepare students to consciously influence their individual professional and educational destinies by taking stock of their knowledge, skills, past achievements, and professional experiences and reflecting on available opportunities for further academic and professional development. During the course, existing sources of statistical data on the formation of demand and supply in the labor market will be presented, as well as reports containing the research results on the monitoring of professional paths of graduates of the "social policy" and related fields.

During the course, the following topics will be implemented:

1. professional career - traditional and contemporary approaches to career, career models

2. individual employability - characteristics of the issue, measurement, and practical use

3. building a personal brand (personal branding) - objectives and basic methods

4. social media in personnel branding

5. grouping of professions and diagnosis of professional references - a review of selected career counseling tools

6. university graduates on the labor market - analysis of available data sets

7. preparation of CV and cover letter

Learning outcomes:

The students, after completing the course:

1) can conduct an inventory of their professional knowledge and skills, as well as know the sources of statistical data on labor demand- K_U10

2) searches and analyzes available information to shape their future professional and educational career- K_K03

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

1. completion of tasks related to the preparation of a career portfolio (60%)

2. preparation of a draft cv (20%)

3. activity in class

Attendance control. One absence is allowed. Three absences: the need to prepare additional coursework; 4 absences and more: inability to pass the course.

Practical placement:

Internships are not required.
