ECTS credit allocation (and other scores):	5.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles: the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS; the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h; 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes; weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS; work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:	The subject is realized in the form of a lecture (15 h) and exercises (30 h) and is an introduction to the theory and methods of strategic analysis as a management and planning tool in the state security sector. The content discussed in the course of lectures and deepened in the course of students' own learning is used by them during the analytical tasks during the exercises. The course is theoretical and practical in nature - students use the acquired knowledge in developing their own analytical projects.
Full description:	The aim of this course is to provide participants with knowledge about the objectives, tools and conditions of strategic analysis conducted for the needs of state institutions responsible for the security sector.

Learning outcomes:	After classes the student should understand: the needs and analytical conditions of the state resulting from strategic management and planning processes in the security sector and understand the concept of intellectual and ethical standards in the analyst's work, the importance of asking the right questions, the spectrum of information sources and methods of verifying their reliability. He should develop the ability to think critically, avoid cognitive traps, and know basic analytical methods and techniques, use them for practical tasks, and be able to effectively present the results of analysis. Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	Conditions for obtaining a pass in the subject: - attendance at the class, - realization of 4 tasks/analytical work (individual and group) during the exercises. The final grade is the average of the grades obtained for the above tasks.

Short description:	(in Polish) Przedmiot jest realizowany w sposób zintegrowany w formie obowiązkowego wykładu (15 h) i ćwiczeń (30 h). Dla ułatwienia pracy studentów oraz wyposażenia ich w stosowną wiedzę ułatwiającą wykonanie zadań analitycznych podczas ćwiczeń: - Wykład poprowadzi prof. Robert Kupiecki. UWAGA: szczególny tryb organizacji (koncentracja zajęć) wykładu wymaga regularnej obecności i skupienia podczas zajęć. - Ćwiczenia zostaną podzielone na 4 moduły prowadzone przez prof. Romana Kuźniara, Prof. Kamilę Pronińską, Prof. Marka Madeja i Prof. Andrzeja Szeptyckiego.
