In terms of EU law, the aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic principles of EU law, the sources of EU law, the relationship of EU law to the law of the Member States, as well as the system of protection of EU law.

In terms of EU institutions, the aim of the course is to familiarize students with the genesis, structure, decision-making and functions of EU institutions and advisory bodies, as well as agencies.

It is complemented by the possibility to obtain information on basic decision-making procedures in the EU.

The most important issues include:

1. sources of law;

2. institutional system;

3. basic decision-making procedures;

4. protection of EU law;

5. relations between EU law and the law of the Member States.

K_W03: the graduate knows and understands the terminology, methods, theory, subject and methodological specificity as well as the main development trends in international relations, especially in the dimension of political and economic relations and development problems in the context of the functioning of the EU

K_W05: the graduate knows and understands in depth the dilemmas of modern civilization affecting the development of international relations and international cooperation, including knowledge about the causes, mechanisms, dynamics and effects of the globalization process, both in the economic and security dimensions, as well as the processes of operation and changes in structures and institutions of a political, military, economic and social nature in the international dimension, has knowledge of the theory and practice of political and economic decision-making in the structures of the nation state and on an international scale in the context of the functioning of the EU

K_U02: the graduate is able to formulate and solve research problems using the knowledge gained during the studies; use appropriately selected methods, techniques and tools, including information and communication techniques, formulate and test hypotheses related to simple research problems in the field of study (in the context of the functioning of the EU)

K_U03: the graduate is able to communicate in an in-depth scope and conduct a debate on topics related to contemporary international relations (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)

K_K01: the graduate is ready to critically evaluate his knowledge and received content, can critically evaluate his research activities (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)

K_K02: the graduate is ready to understand and recognize the importance of knowledge in solving cognitive problems and in consulting experts in the event of difficulties in solving the problem on its own (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)

S2_W06: the graduate knows and understands the diplomatic influence of international organizations on countries (in the context of the functioning of the EU)

S2_W07: the graduate knows and understands the dilemmas of modern civilization that affect the issues of modern diplomatic and consular transactions, including the emergence of challenges for diplomatic law and diplomatic and consular practice (in the context of the functioning of the EU)

S2_U04: the graduate is able to formulate and test hypotheses related to simple problems arising from diplomatic and consular transactions (in the context of the functioning of the EU)

S2_U05: the graduate is able to communicate and conduct a debate on topics related to diplomatic and consular transactions, using specialized terminology (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)

S2_U06: a graduate is able to manage work in teams appointed to research and search for solutions to problems in diplomatic and consular transactions, cooperate with other people as part of such a team (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)

S2_K01: the graduate is ready to critically evaluate his knowledge about diplomatic and consular transactions and to critically evaluate the content received (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)

S2_K02: the graduate is ready to recognize the importance and importance of knowledge about modern diplomacy in solving international problems; seeking and consulting experts in the event of difficulties in solving these problems on an independent basis (in the context of the analysis of the EU functioning)
