ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 6.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description: (in Polish)

Methodological preparation of the Bachelor Thesis. Student learns in depth the selected methods, analysis and description tools adequate for fields of science and scientific disciplines appropriate for the field of study. He/she knows techniques for acquiring, processing and analyzing data used in research process. He/she learns basic concepts and principles in the field of property protection intellectual property and copyright law, as well as he/she is able to use the methods and research tools used in a research process appropriate for the scope of education. He/she learns to search, select, develop and analyze data and information used in the research process.

After completing the seminar, the student:

KNOWLEDGE:

- knows the basic scientific paradigms used in European studies K_W01

- knows the issues and the state of knowledge in the field of selected specific issues related to the field of study K_W02,

- knows the technical and methodological principles of writing scientific dissertations K_W03,

- understands the need for reliable documentation of scientific statements (footnotes, bibliography) K_W03

- knows the basic ethical principles applicable in research work K_W03,

SKILLS:

- can apply the methodology of conducting research in the field of European studies K_U02

- is able to organize a workshop and plan the stages of work K_U04,

- can collect, select and analyze source materials K_U04,

- can edit the text of the diploma thesis and edit it carefully K_U04,

- is able to independently develop and conduct a study K_U04,

- can present the results of the research and formulate conclusions, including application and prognostic ones, regarding the need to take specific actions in the future by political decision-makers in order to solve the research problems analyzed in the diploma thesis K_U03,

- can work under the supervision of a scientific supervisor K_U11,

- appreciates the value of independent research and scientific work K_U11,

- can identify their own mistakes and accept constructive criticism K_U11,

SOCIAL COMPETENCES:

- defines priorities related to the implementation of the undertaken research task and consistently strives to implement it K_K01.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria: (in Polish)

To complete the first semester of seminar the student has to present the outline of the thesis on the topic agreed with the tutor and write the first chapter of the diploma thesis.
