The aim of the lecture is introducing students to non-formal, informal and alternative education theory, describing the main trends in this field in Poland and in the world, presenting the most important practical activities and the methods used in this field of knowledge. |

As a part of the classes, students will become acquainted with basic theories used for describing informal, non-formal and alternative education and the practical implementation of these theories in the field of education and culture. Students will learn how informal and non-formal education is realized in Poland and what are the trends in the world. During the lecture, there will be presented methods used for activities within these streams, how they are characterized and in what situations they may be used. |

Knowledge The person knows the basic concepts of informal, non-formal and alternative education, and knows what links existing between them Knows what is the place of informal, non-formal and alternative education among the social sciences Understands the differences between non-formal, non-formal and alternative education Knows basic theories in informal, non-formal and alternative education Knows with which social groups and age groups you can work in informal, non-formal and alternative education Knows under what social structures and institutions can the informal, non-formal and alternative education activities work and what are the conditions Knows how the communication processes within the group work, knows the social roles within the group Skills The person characterizes different theories in the field of informal, non-formal and alternative education and points out their interrelationships Identifies and characterizes examples of informal, non-formal and alternative education Analyzes the possibility of implementing informal, non-formal and alternative education in specific social structures and institutions Can analyze the group (in terms of the degree of development, group processes, needs and opportunities) in a particular social situation and select the appropriate method of working in the field of non-formal, informal education Can assess the adequacy of selected methods of action in a specific social situation By using information from various sources, actively looks for ways to expand knowledge and skills in informal, non-formal and alternative education competence The person evaluates a given social situation from the point of view of different social roles - taking different points of view Uses the gained knowledge to design activities in the field of informal, non-formal and alternative education Analyzes and critically addresses new trends in informal, non-formal and alternative education is aware of the importance of theoretical knowledge in non-formal, informal and alternative education for practical purposes Is aware of the level of knowledge in informal, non-formal and alternative education and the need for continuous improvement in this field |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
The main part of the assessment is a written research work on a specific topic and the presentation of the assumptions and effects to the group . |
