Goal of the course: The goal of this course is to acquaint participants with the history and current system of adult education in Poland.

Main Topics: History of adult education in Poland. Adult education - modern organizational forms and programs. The Market of adult education providers in Poland and perspectives for its development.

Full description:

The aim of the lecture is to present the history of adult education in Poland. Students learn the historical conditions of modern solutions to adult education in Poland. This knowledge allows better understanding of the behavioral characteristics of adult education in the area of ​​formal education, non-formal and informal education.

Points raised during the lecture allow the individual or team to write a paper whose subject matter is updated annually and active participation in organized activities during the annual study trips to other academic centers.

Learning outcomes:

Student knows and is able to critically assess the historical conditions shaping the adult education system in Poland and understands determinants of the contemporary adult education market in Poland. Student can assess the adequacy of existing offers on the market today to educational purposes and training programs.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Paper test. Each correct answer is scored 1 point. The test is considered passed after getting 60 percent of correct answers.
