Short description:

The purpose of that practice is to allow students not only to observe and analyse educational situations but also to project and conduct classes in pre-school education. That practice prepares students for future teaching profession by enriching the workshop of the teacher.

The practice takes place in the preschool institution and it is an integral part of the course : Teacher in the preschool.

Full description:

During that professional practice student not only observes the work of preschool, but actively joins in all activities. She organizes her practice according to the daily schedule, creates the preschool documentation and works according to its guidelines. Student not only participates but also projects and conducts classes with full recognition of methods, forms and teaching aids. Student recognizes individual needs of children and diagnoses educational problems of children. She plans professional support. The student takes educational reflection, documents it as a preparation for the future educational work.

Learning outcomes:

- the student takes parts in all preschool activities and projects variety of them,

- observes educational situations and documents some of them,

- takes professional reflection and documents it,

- notices children’s individual problems and tries to plan appropriate support,

- discusses problems of the practice with the teacher, gathers information about the group of children and comparing own conclusions,

- cooperates with preschool staff and parents by every day contact with them and observation of teacher’s work.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

- educational observation and reflection documented by questionnaires,

- documented opinion about the student’s practice from the preschool,

- visiting, common discussion and evaluation of the practise with the practice carer.
