Prerequisites (description):

The student is acquiring the knowledge in the communication with disabled person.

Short description:

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the nature of the communication with persons with different kinds of disabilities is everyday situations , as well as in the counselling and in the educational process.

Full description:

The program of the classes includes the essential concerning the process of the communication: the definition, the analysis of the act of the intercommunication (sender, recipient, announcement, noise) and the ability of active listening. Brought up issues will include the basic knowledge about individual kinds of disability (motor, mental, aural, visual), of chronic disease and nature of functioning of persons with pervasive development disorders. The issues discussed will include analysis of behaviors towards persons with disability, way of establishing contact, possibilities of sustaining the relation. The program of classes will also cover the issues concerning an alternative manners of the communication.
