Prerequisites (description):	The main objective of the course is to make students acquainted with the role that the main theatre forms have in supporting a versatile and balanced development of the child. The result will be the participants’ acquiring basic didactic competences as well as methodological and organisational skills enabling them to make effective use of theatrical forms in carrying out the educational process at pre-school level.

Full description:	The following subject groups have been planned as part of the programme: SELECTED AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THEATRE The development and history of children’s theatre, Language, symbols and basic conventions in the theatre for children Reception and perception of theatrical plays by pre-school-age children Principles and ideas for the theatrical initiation of the young audience and the young actor Elements of theatrical education in pre-school curricula SUPPORTING THE CHILD’S INDIVIDUAL DEVELOPMENT Methods of developing the child’s imagination – training creativity Exercises developing the child’s bodily expression and plasticity, Exercises in diction, intonation and interpretation of texts THE ORGANISATION OF THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES The organisation of space on the stage and the movement of the actor on the stage Costume, masks and props in the actor’s work – simple acting tasks. Using elements of stage sets, lighting and soundtrack in the preparation of theatrical performances. THEATRICAL FORMS USED IN WORKING WITH SMALL CHILDREN Characteristic features and principles of puppet animation (the theatre of every-day objects, finger and knot theatre, hand puppets, string puppets, marionette theatre, shadow theatre, “live-plan theatre; (pantomime, “black” theatre).

Learning outcomes:	-student zna różne sposoby inicjacji teatralnej małego dziecka, -wie, jakie są możliwości małych dzieci w zakresie percepcji i recepcji przedstawień teatralnych, -zna zasady i potrafi skonstruować program edukacji teatralnej, jako jeden z elementów wprowadzania małego dziecka w świat kultury i sztuki -potrafi stworzyć plan przedstawienia teatralnego, -umie przeprowadzić podstawowe ćwiczenia ułatwiające małemu dziecku odegranie roli w różnych formach teatralnych,
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	Podstawowymi metodami pracy są ćwiczenia, dyskusja, obserwacja i pokaz. W ramach kursu przewidywane jest korzystanie z różnorodnych materiałów / prezentacje multimedialne, filmy, scenariusze, , lalki, kostiumy, rekwizyty, ścieżki dźwiękowe, elementy scenograficzne/ oraz wytwarzanie własnej dokumentacji i projektów. Zajęcia kończą się zaliczeniem, która dotyczy: - zaliczenia ćw z animacji, zadań aktorskich, pracy z tekstem - studenci na zaliczenie zajęć przygotowują także portfolio, zawierające przykłady ćwiczeń z poszczególnych modułów programu edukacji teatralnej małego dziecka oraz opis wykorzystania wybranej formy teatralnej w projekcie edukacyjnym
