Prerequisites (description):

In the first part of the subject (analysis of the labour market), the student will acquire and develop skills related to the analysis of information on the processes taking place in the labour market.


In the second part, students will learn tools for diagnosing labour predispositions at various stages of development.

Short description:

Students in the course will learn the basic terms and mechanisms of controlling the labour market and prepare the Polish labour market analysis based on data from the Labour Force Survey Research (BAEL) and other sources of information about the labour market.

Full description:

In the first part of the subject (analysis of the labour market) the following topics will be discussed:

• the basic terms of the analysis of the labour market (supply, demand, unemployment, market mechanism, hysteresis in the labour market, flexibility and deregulation of the labour market, black market, gray market, contract, civil-law contract);

• Polish labour market - employment dynamics;

• the types and causes of unemployment - the image of Polish unemployment;

• sources of information of the labour market;

• Labour Force Survey (BAEL);

• analysis of the parameters of the labour market.

In the second part of the course (further education and vocational advisory) will be realized training in applying tools on professional aptitude to recognize youth learning at different levels of the education system. There will be assessed the usefulness and explanatory salience of theories of professional development such as Ginsberg, Super, Holland.

• discusses the basic concepts of the labour market such as supply, demand, unemployment, the market mechanism;

• lists the sources of information of the labour market;

• explains the term hysteresis in the labour market, flexibility and deregulation of the labour market;

• properly distinguish between the concept of the black market and underground economy and the employment contract and civil-law contract.

• analyzes of the labour market using the results of the BAEL;

• searches job offers using online databases and selects adequate to the existing needs.
