ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 15.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

The aim of the module is to familiarize students with the characteristics of adult education solutions utilizing modern information and communication technologies

Full description:

Objective of the module:

1. Students learn theoretical foundations of educational solutions that use different technologies.

2. Understanding the concept of education of specialists in distance education.

3. Identification of factors determining the social network profile

Program: Students during the module-building activities acquire the knowledge to assess the role of distance education in contemporary forms of education. Adults and the specificity of technological solutions used in everyday educational practice.

1. Social Contexts and Information Technology Paradigms.

2. Modern models of adult education and the phenomenon of "networking" education.

Post-industrialism and information society.

4. Culture in virtual reality and its educational dimension.

5. Standards for adult education professionals for "interactive societies"

6. Technology solutions and the requirements of media teaching.

7. Selected teaching models and assessment of their usefulness

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge: student

1. has a well-rounded knowledge of adult character / types of education using modern technology and principles of media use in school and non-adult adult education

2. knows and understands the theories justifying the use of a given technology in adult education

3. knows the innovative training methods used in adult education such as: competence training, mentoring, coaching

4. knows and understands theoretical concepts as a basis for constructing training methods utilizing modern technologies

Skills: student

1. is able to assess the adequacy of applied technological solutions in terms of adopted learning objectives, educational / age characteristics, gender, educational needs, expectations, aspirations /

2. Can choose the right technology due to the specificity of the adult learning group

3. is able to assess the relevance of the innovative training method applied in the knowledge management perspective, taking into account the contextual and interactive conditioning

4. can develop original design of his own training method

Social competences: student

1. Appreciates the need for lifelong learning

2. establish relationships and work together to accomplish the accepted tasks

3. is able to act in a planned manner, fulfilling accepted tasks and manage his own educational and professional development

4. Understands the need to adhere to ethical standards in the use of modern technologies and innovative training methods in adult education

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Presentation of the student's self-developed educational solution using modern technologies such as website, educational film, multimedia presentation, and discussion of the principles underlying the choice of a particular technology.

The assessment is subject to:

Completeness of presented solution 1/3

Consistency of applied technological solutions 1/3

Adequacy to the adopted goal 1/3
