Short description:

The aim of the activities included in the module is the preparation of psycho-pedagogical and substantive to work as a teacher in a kindergarten and to teach in classes I-III primary school. Students learn about the issues of cognitive and socio-emotional development of young children. At the same time gain the basic knowledge and skills in the Polish language (e.g. children's literature), mathematics, science, music, art and ICT.

Full description:

The content developed during the course of exchange rate includes the following topics:

- The genesis of emotions, emotional intelligence, emotional development of young children

- Children's thinking, cognitive development concepts, understanding of social and family relationships and peer relationships

- The relationship between children's thinking and feelings

- Personal theories about the mind, motivation and learning, the importance of intersubjectivity, fun, narrative

- The basic issues of grammar and culture of the Polish language

- Contemporary children's literature awarded for literary and pedagogical value, the genesis of selected books, their semantic and formal features

- Criteria for literary and pedagogical evaluation of text, graphic material and editing a book addressed to the child

- Principles and examples of children's animation readership

- Basic issues of arithmetic, geometry, algebra,

- Organizing data

- Elements of probability, probabilistic reasoning

- Selected methods and forms of acquiring, collecting, analyzing and structuring the processing and use of information from different fields of knowledge

- The nature and structure of the educational project

- Basic issues of botany, zoology, physics, chemistry, geography, etc.

- The use of educational media and information technology

- Human musical culture in the context of his personal needs, educational system conditions and the impact of the information society on the development of musical taste

- Types of musical activity (singing , movement to music, playing Orff instruments , listening to and making music) and the method of teaching music with children

- Types of music and musical activity in non-musical areas of the education of children

- The value of musical activity undertaken in early childhood for the development of harmonious and creative personality, principles of organization of the child's environment

- Basic concepts of artistic culture, different types of works of art and the criteria for their evaluation

- Basic knowledge of the institutions of contemporary art and cultural life.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

 Has knowledge on the characteristics of cognitive and socio - emotionaldevelopmnet of young children.

 Has knowledge about the basic issues of grammar and culture of the Polish language.

 Has knowledge of the principles of selection and use of children's literature in teaching.

 Know the selected books from children's literature, the genesis, characteristics of formal and semantic literature.

 Know and understand the basic mathematical concepts of algebra and geometry and their practical application.

 Has knowledge on the use of mathematical methods and tools in everyday situations, in particular problem-solving strategies.

 Know and understand the basic concepts of artistic culture, different types of music and works of art and the criteria for their evaluation.

 It has a basic knowledge of artistic institutions and orientation in contemporary cultural life.

 It has a basic knowledge of the achievements of modern science and technology, particularly in the area of natural sciences.

 He knows the different ways of introducing young children to the world of science, knows how to take into account their abilities and cognitive needs in the process of constructing knowledge, develop their interests, forming a critical attitude towards the information that comes from different sources of knowledge.

Skills:

 Able to consciously choose the linguistic means in the communication process.

 Able to be used in the practice of children's literature, reading to adjust the range of developmental needs and interests of children.

 Able to apply knowledge and mathematical reasoning to solve problems and practical tasks.

 Able to carry out simple mathematical reasoning - both of a deterministic and probabilistic.

 Able to use different models and representations of mathematical objects while solving tasks and problems.

 Able to apply mathematical reasoning in other fields of science.

 Able to distinguish between the elements of a musical work and analyze them, and comment on listening to music, using the concept of musical language.

 Able to distinguish between the structural elements of a musical work , analyze it and comment on and listening to the music performed by using the concepts of musical language.

 Able to recognize different types of cultural artistic, engage in a critical analysis and interpretation, defines the importance and impact of social and place that works of art occupy in the historical and cultural proccess.

 Able to independently acquire knowledge and develop their artistic interest in culture.

 Able to develop children interest and artistic talent, sensitize children to the arts.

 Able to explain the mechanism of formation of some natural phenomen , sees their causes and effects in human life.

Social competence:

 Cares about the culture of the language, which is spoken by him and his surroundings.

 Popularize among parents valuable items of literature for children and encourage them to read together with their children.

 He is aware of the changes taking place in the natural sciences - mathematics and feels the need to develop their knowledge of the world.

 He is aware of the deliberate use of different mathematical tools and the need to solve problems in cooperation.

 He sees the social aspect of artistic experience, this knowledge is used in their own teaching.

 Participates in cultural life, using a variety of media and its various forms.

 Recognizes the qualities of artistic activity for the creation of proper interpersonal communication in the group.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The exam is an individual essay: evaluation of any toy or educational game intended for children in preschool or early school. The assessment is based on specific criteria and is based on knowledge and skills gained from the completion of subjects from this module.
