Short description:

The goal of the course is exploring the issues regarding employee learning and learning in an organization as a whole. The classes aim to familiarize students with different approaches to employee training and to develop the ability of critical assessment of training process solutions found in companies

Full description:

The classes aim to familiarize students with different approaches to employee training and to develop the ability of critical assessment of training process solutions found in companies. During the classes students will analyze and evaluate different forms of training. Further detailed issues regarding the training process within an organization will be discussed. The classes will cover such topics as: changes to human resource policies and their consequences to the employee training model; basic models of training processes, recognizing and analyzing the needs for training, training syllabuses in selected companies, talent management, motivation management as a key element in the training process; webinars, the training process in an intercultural environment, from training to learning – a fresh look on the training process.

Learning outcomes:

On completion of the course:

Knowledge. The student:

1. knows basic approaches to employee training in companies

2. knows a variety of educational solutions for employees within formal, non-formal and informal education

3. knows basic components of the training process as well as the procedures applied

Skills. The student:

1. is able to carry out an analysis of the training process in a company

2. is able to critically assess the effectiveness of the educational solutions applied and propose improving activities

Social competencies. The student:

1. is able to seek for information on their own as well as collaborate with other students while carrying out joint team tasks.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

In order to be given a credit for the classes, each student is required to prepare a composition describing one of the topics covered in classes.
