The classes aim at teaching students the basic issues connected with the developing and building of mathematical notions and skills in early school children, among other themes including: " the goals and tasks of school at the 1st stage of education, particular attention being paid to developing mathematical skills; " constructivist approach to the development of mathematical skills; " the methods of creating and utilizing realistic situations which stimulate child's mathematical creativity; " the methods of solving text problems; " the role of games in the development of mathematical skills in children and in implementing general tasks of the school; " the process of building the notion of number and developing proficiency in arithmetic; " the process of designing and arranging educational situations at school. |

(in Polish) Po zakończeniu zajęć student powinien wykazać się: • wiedzą dotyczącą celów edukacji matematycznej w klasach 1-3 oraz sposobów ich realizacji; • wiedzą na temat światowych tendencji w obszarze edukacji matematycznej; • umiejętnością refleksyjnego spojrzenia na codzienność polskiego nauczania początkowego w obszarze edukacji matematycznej; • umiejętnością planowania sytuacji dydaktycznych o różnym poziomie zaawansowania matematycznego |
