Analysing the skills required for reading different kinds of texts and learning to use them when reading in English. Basic information about the theory of effective reading in a foreign language. Extensive and intensive reading for homework. The organisation of a written text and individual paragraphs. Writing formal and informal texts. |

Learning outcomes: |
Encouraging students to develop their reading comprehension skills in English. Developing writing skills and learning to adapt them to the purpose of the text and the target reader. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Every student will read an article set for homework, i.e. on the role of reading comprehension in learning a foreign language. In addition, every student will do about 10 pieces of different kinds of writing for homework and 2 in class. Final assessment will depend on the average grade obtained for those assignments and on how active the student is in class. |
