Short description:

The module aims to improve students’ practical knowledge of English at an advanced level as far as the following abilities are concerned: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

Full description:

The module aims to improve the students' practical knowledge of English at an advanced level in terms of listening, speaking, reading and writing.

The module aims to improve the students' communication skills in English at B2/C1 level through reading and listening to various texts and creating their own written assignments.

Learning to solve typical exam tasks is an additional element of the module.

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the course the students can understand spoken English, process the information obtained in this way and confidently express themselves at C1/C1+ level on various topics.

On completion of the module the student:

• has an active vocabulary in English (in thematic areas covered by the module) at the C1/C1+ level

• has a detailed knowledge of practical grammar of the English language and can apply it properly, orally and in writing, at the C1/C1+ level

• can express and justify his/her opinion, has communicative competence in English corresponding to the C1/C1+ level

• reads and understands original texts in English (fiction, popular science and media) at the C1/C1+ level

• can prepare and edit written texts on given topics in English at the C1/C1+ level
